I will call this Peeling Carrot Pose....

Yesterday, I made vegetable stir fry. I was getting all of the beautiful veggies chopped and ready to go into the good old cast iron skillet. It was time to peel the carrots. I found myself bending over the trash can peeling away. If you had no idea what I was doing, and just had an ear listening to my inner dialog, then you would have thought I was in the middle of a yoga posture. It sounded a little like this; reach into all four corners of your feet. More weight is in your left foot, adjust yourself! Draw your shoulder blades down your back. Reach through your crown. I had to chuckle to myself as I realized I was trying to perfect a pose that I just made up! How many times have I bent over that trash can peeling carrots, but not been aware of my poor posture or uneven weight distribution? My asana practice has started to run over into my life off the mat, just as the yoga philosophies have followed me off the mat, and this made me smile. I should name this pose, I thought to myself. I decided I would call it Peeling Carrot Pose...I'm going to have to look up the Sanskrit for that!
